History Comes Alive: Rosa Parks

National humanities and Chatauqua scholar Becky Stone will portray Rosa Parks. This courageous and determined woman refused to give up her seat on a bus in 1955 in Alabama, in essence starting the Civil Rights Movement. Professor Stone will also discuss Park's focus on Women's Rights as they relate to the Civil Rights Movement.

Sign in to meet with a VITA volunteer. Meet with a volunteer to get help with tax preparation as time allows. Meetings are first come, first served. Reduce your waiting time at the tax prep site – download and print your Intake and Consent forms at www.makechangenoco.org then fill out and bring them with you. Required forms must be submitted before an appointment is confirmed.

Conversations build community at Old Town Library. “Conversations in English” offers a friendly, informal setting for English language learners to practice their English and connect with others. A volunteer facilitator, who is a native-English speaker, guides conversations on relevant, every day topics like family, work, school, sports, and daily life. Participants can also suggest topics to discuss. For adults. All levels of experience and ability are welcome. No registration is required. Drop by and bring a friend!

Designing 3D Models with Tinkercad Beyond Basics - for Teens & Adults

In this "Beyond" class, you will learn more advanced design skills with Tinkercad in order to create more functional and complex designs. Learn to edit existing files, create more functional objects, use advanced "shape generators", and discover how to alter aspects of your model in order to ensure the best 3D printed outcome. Completion of Tinkercad Basics class highly recommended. Please have valid Tinkercad account prior to class. Please join the Fort Collins International Center (FCIC), a 501c3 nonprofit, and the Poudre River Public Library District for International Night at the Library program. The program began in the late 70’s at the Old Town Library, expanding to two libraries in the late 90’s. The program presents a different country or region from around the world each month. Since the late 90’s, over 100 countries have been presented by speakers from the Fort Collins community who have lived / travel abroad or are from one of over 200 countries around the globe. Learn about the food, the music, the dance and people from different countries. All the speakers are volunteers who wish to share their experiences/ cultures with the Fort Collins community. If you are interested in presenting at this program, please contact Mark Oberschmidt at moberschmidt@gmail.com to volunteer. For more information about FCIC please visit www.fortcollinsinternationalcenter.org This program is from 7:00 – 8:30 PM twice a month on the 2nd Tuesday at the Old Town Library and the 4th Thursday of the month at the Harmony Library.
