International Night Zoom Event: Việt Nam

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Event Details

Nga Vương-Sandoval will share her personal Việtnamese refugee experience, her social justice advocacy work and the importance of rebuilding the refugee resettlement program that has been decimated in recent years. She'll discuss the importance of welcoming our most vulnerable, persecuted and traumatized communities in the world.

The Fort Collins International Center and Poudre Library present International Night, focusing on a different country or region from around the world monthly. This program will be offered through Zoom. Meeting information will be provided by email to registered participants.

Nga Vương-Sandoval is the Refugee Congress Delegate for Colorado. She and her family fled their homeland due to the Việt Nam War and became refugees. They were displaced in refugee camps before resettling in the U.S. and were known as the ‘boat people.’ As a Việtnamese refugee, she embraces her heritage and refugee experience and is empathetic to the plight and struggle of other underrepresented communities.

Speakers are volunteers who wish to share their experiences/cultures with the Fort Collins community. If you would like to present at this program, please contact Mark Oberschmidt at www.fortcollinsinternationalcenter.org
