It's time to plan another Pride Prom and we need your voice! Join the Youth Pride Prom Committee and community partners to shape a wonderful community celebration. This Pride event is for the youth, and with your help, by the youth.

Earth Day is just around the corner - let's do some up-cycling! Do you have a thousand race/school tees? Or tees that have fantastic slogans/images but don’t fit right? Bring in
your un-wearable t-shirts and we will help you re-purpose them! Make market
bags, dog toys, t-shirt “yarn,” headbands, and more!
Scissors,
yarn, sewing machines, etc. will all be provided, as well as extra t-shirts if
you don't have any you want to use at home.
When you visit
Evie, you can do almost everything you could do at one of our branch
libraries. You can check materials out, you can return materials from
any branch, you can get a library card. We can help you put materials on
hold or check the status of your holds, but we don’t deliver holds –
you will have to pick those up at one of the branches.
You can
also print, use our WiFi, or check out a Chromebook kit. We will often
have storytimes or an activity or craft. And we are always happy to help
you find your next great read. We hope to see you soon!

This month we will be reading Laurie Halse Anderson's Shout. This bestselling memoir in verse is a companion to Speak, Anderson's award winning novel about a teenager who struggles to find her voice after being sexually assaulted. Shout has received both multiple starred reviews and multiple challenges since it's publication in 2019.

The Teen Council's Leadership Committee meets once a month to help shape the teen collection, advise on library policy, and improve library services for teens. For teens in grades 9 to 12. Application required.
Registration opens today for the June 20 event: Free to Read. This staff lead program for high school students and adults features recently published and banned or challenged books. May's discussion will be about Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé. This award winning thriller tells the story of two private school students targeted by an anonymous bully. Once registered, you will be notified when your complimentary book is available for pick up at Council Tree Library. This computer class will introduce you to Microsoft Excel. Laptops are provided; you'll learn how to create a budget and use powerful Excel features to automatically calculate numbers and track data. Excel is a great tool for keeping information organized both at work and at home. Registration recommended.
Teen Council's Programming Committee meets once a month to plan fun programs for teens. Previous programs have included a Yule Ball, Halloween Party, Nerf Battle, and costume workshop. This winter, we'll be working on a Murder Mystery to be hosted in the spring.
