Engage with passages from frequently challenged books and take action to protect your right to read. This event will feature:
live readings of
passages from frequently challenged books,
facts about recent book ban movements around the U.S. and in Colorado,
a book swap,
postcard writing to banned authors,
a "found poetry" craft,
opportunities for you to engage with local officials on issues of censorship and intellectual freedom.
Bring a book you'd like to swap with other attendees - especially if it's a book that changed your perspective or gave you new insights! Registration not required but encouraged.
The Lyric Cinema is located at 1209 N College Ave. Beverages and food are available for purchase, though purchase is not required to participate.
